Pioneers Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
The St. Louis Pioneers defeated the Detroit Dynamos, 7-5, at Pioneer Field III. Del Jacobs produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Pioneers, with only their 6th win in 22 games, could be the worst team in the league.

The Pioneers got a big at-bat from left fielder Milt Howard. For the game, Howard was 2-2 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave St. Louis a 6-5 lead.
