| Slide Continues for Mavericks | The Cincinnati Cannons earned a win at Prairie Park, knocking off the Kansas City Mavericks, 4-1. On the bump for Cincinnati was right-hander Ace Barrell. He had a starring role in the triumph. The save went to Earl White, his 7th this season. With the win, Cincinnati is 11-9.
Bob Bell, who finished 5th in the FA in hits with 180 in 1967, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bell contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Cincinnati up, 2-1.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Barrell. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
