| Washington Absorbs 5-2 Loss to Atlanta | Conditions were not ideal but Atlanta and Washington were able to put their game in the books.
The Atlanta Copperheads defeated the Washington Eagles, 5-2, in Federal Association action at Columbia Stadium. Earl Skains pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Copperheads, now 13-6, have been playing some good baseball.
Early in the game, Skains had a 3-run home run for Atlanta. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Copperheads on top, 3-0.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Skains. | |
