Mechanics Pull Out Late-Game Win, 3-2
Robert Mitchell, who led the UL in strikeouts with 218 in 1915, had a strong outing for the Pittsburgh Mechanics against the New York Stars at Riverside Stadium II. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. New York now has a record of 16-14.

Dave Kingsley helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4 with a double.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Mitchell.
