In a tight contest between the Chicago Cougars and the Cincinnati Cannons, Bill Scott was the determining factor. The Chicago left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The loss drops Cincinnati to 10-9.

Tom Halliday had a big 2-run home run for the Cougars in the bottom of the third inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Moe Powell and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Cougars on top, 3-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Chicago skipper Pug Bryan. "I can't complain."
