| Miners Win Squeaker, 6-5, Over Suns | The Pittsburgh Miners handed the Los Angeles Suns a 6-5 defeat at Wilshire Park. Third Baseman Reid Barrell starred for Pittsburgh. He went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win puts Pittsburgh at 27-22 this season.
Barrell had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run triple. The Miners went on to win.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Barrell told the Pittsburgh Times. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
