With this game in the books, Pittsburgh is 26-22, Los Angeles 18-30.
Pittsburgh took a 5-1 lead on Schmitt's 3rd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which he hit off Doc Carver in the top of the seventh, propelled Pittsburgh to the win.
"I still think this team can play even better," Schmitt told the Pittsburgh Times.
