| Keystones Get 5-1 Win Versus St. Louis | Philadelphia pitcher Leo Jackson had a large part in his team subduing the St. Louis Pioneers, 5-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Philadelphia reliever Leo Jackson got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Vin Dorsey was tagged with the loss. The loss has the Pioneers at 16-16.
The Keystones got a gift in the top of the seventh inning, when they were leading 2-1. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Leo Jackson reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Philadelphia.
Said losing manager Joe Whitcomb: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
