| Saints Down Keystones, 3-1 | Montreal Saints starter Larry Kelly was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-1. Dick Dean recorded the save, making him 6 for 8. Montreal raised its record to 53-46 with the win.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ed Carpenter? The 21-year old catcher Carpenter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Montreal up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
Montreal manager Jim Jenkins said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
