| With Late Score, Kings Beat Arrows | Seattle starter Swede Hawkins put a stranglehold on the Milwaukee offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Kings to a 2-1 win. Seattle reliever Billy Collins, who led the CA in saves with 23 last year, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-1. Jim Hart took the loss for Milwaukee. The Kings have hit the ground running, raising their record to 13-7. While it's still too soon to talk about Seattle hoisting their 4th World Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Jesse Scott was the walk-off hero for Seattle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kings pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Hawkins told the Seattle News. | |
