| Kings Handed 5-2 Loss by Chicago | Chicago Chiefs right-hander Benny Crowell pitched a good game against the Brooklyn Kings at Whitney Park, leading his team to victory, 5-2. Crowell yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 12-11. Today's win puts Chicago at 52-46, while Brooklyn falls to 42-51.
Andy Wampler had a big 2-run triple for the Chiefs in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Ed Fleury, who is tied for 5th in the FL in innings pitched with 204.1, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chiefs ahead, 3-0.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Wampler.
