Beacons Take Nail-Biter Over Blues
The Boston Beacons outlasted the Chicago Blues, 4-3, in 11 innings. Boston center fielder Owen Gill stood out with his performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Boston reliever John Hicks picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Russ Hoover took the loss. Boston goes to 20-8 with the win.

Gill delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th to win it for Boston. In the contest, Gill was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Gill told the Boston Daily News.
