| On Road, New York Drops Chicago, 9-3 | The New York Gothams beat the Chicago Chiefs by a score of 9-3. New York right fielder Rex Pilcher deserved the lion's share of the credit. Pilcher was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Gothams. New York pitcher Les Freedman earned the win, hiking his record to 4-2. Jack Halbur suffered the loss. The victory gives the Gothams a record of 24-23.
New York used a well-timed hit by Joe Anderson to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Gothams ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Anderson.
