| Stars Win Nail-Biter | The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
In a tight tilt between the New York Stars and the Cleveland Grays, Harry Powell was the deciding factor. The New York left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. The win went to Werner Koenig in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Fred Reimer took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Joe Roberts in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Fred Reimer to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Powell, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
The victory gives the Stars a record of 49-41.
