| Cannons Win at Home, 2-1 | In a low-scoring affair between the Baltimore Cannons and the Pittsburgh Mechanics, pitcher Sam Lehman was the difference between victory and defeat. The Baltimore right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Cannons win. Lehman picked up the win for Baltimore, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-9. Jesse Johnson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 12 save opportunities.
Mickey Dahlberg, who finished 4th in the UL in wins above replacement with 10.6 in 1904, helped out the Baltimore cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop was 2-2 with 2 singles.
"Tough loss," said Pittsburgh manager Jim Clement. "This one will sting for a while."
The Cannons go to 34-54 with the win.
