| Montreal Beaten, 3-1, by Cleveland | Starting pitcher Juan Solorzano did his part in helping the Cleveland Foresters thwart the Montreal Saints, 3-1. Solorzano picked up the win for Cleveland, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Bob V James was credited with the save for Cleveland, his 5th of the season.
Vern Schneider came through with a big-time hit for Cleveland. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I believe in our guys," said Cleveland skipper Ray Parsons. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The Saints fall to 8-11 and continue their sputtering start to the 1975 season. | |
