Beavers Nilsson Claims 200th Victory
What would you do after you had just won your 200th game? Run around Maumee Park II doing cartwheels, jumping for joy and waving to the crowd? Well, maybe you and I would do that, but not Beany Nilsson -- that's not his way.

After he notched number 200, the 35-year-old Toronto hurler spoke to the press like he always has -- in a soft, quiet voice. He wasn't doing any cartwheels or even anything resembling a jump for joy. "Obviously it feels very good," Nilsson commented. "To win this many games, you've got to have a lot of help."

Nilsson got his milestone victory by beating the Boston Beacons 5-4. He held them to no hits in 1 innings and rung up no strikeouts with no walks.

After sharing his thoughts with the press, he went to the clubhouse. There he was greeted by the guys who had helped him get #200. His teammates drenched him and then gave him a rousing round of applause. That got to him -- for the first time today, Nilsson's face broke into a big smile.

Nilsson has made 542 career appearances, rolling up a 200-223 record with 6 saves. In 3960 innings he has fired a third strike past 1324 batters, issued 1231 free passes and held other teams to a .256 average.
