Mechanics Drop Beacons, 7-1
Pittsburgh turned a fine outing from starter Casey Edwards into a victory over the Boston Beacons at Beacon Park. The final score was 7-1. The winner was Edwards. He threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Fred Wilson. The win gives Pittsburgh a season record of 47-37.

Pittsburgh took a 5-1 lead on Edwards's 2nd triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which he hit off Fred Wilson in the top of the seventh, propelled Pittsburgh to the win.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Edwards.
