Marshall, who is tied for 8th in the FA in triples with 1, collected 2 runs batted in, while going 3 for 4 at the plate. The third baseman also scored 2 times. Bob Young, who finished 3rd in the CA in saves with 19 in 1970, earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0.
