| Cannons Fall to Beavers, 6-2 | At Timmons Park, the Baltimore Cannons and Toronto Beavers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Toronto turned a good effort from starter Dale Hovis into a win over the Baltimore Cannons at Timmons Park. The Beavers won the game, 6-2. Hovis, now 9-8, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Jon Matthews was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 15 save opportunities.
Jerry Judice hit a run-scoring triple off Jim Roseman in the top of the second, which put the Beavers in front, 1-0. Judice had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Judice.
The Beavers bumped their record to 48-37 with this win.
