| New York 7-1 Victors at Thompson Field | New York used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jake Watkins to down the Detroit Dynamos, 7-1. The win takes New York to 9-9.
Ed Davis had a big run-scoring double for the Gothams in the top of the third inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from 31-year old left-handed pitcher Larry Tindall and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gothams ahead, 2-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said New York skipper Charlie Foley. | |
