| Seattle Nets 5-4 Win Versus Sailors | Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Seattle Kings and San Francisco Sailors.
The Seattle Kings defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4, at Golden Gate Stadium. Seattle was led by 1974 Kellogg Award winner Mike Griffith, who was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Billy Collins earned save number 1 this season.
Fred Tollefson came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We did enough to win," said Tollefson.
San Francisco drops to 1-1.
