Win Streak Now at 11 for Stars
The New York Stars rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Joe Perez to a win, beating the Pittsburgh Mechanics, 5-1, at Riverside Stadium II. The Stars have now won 11 straight.

Frank Priest had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the second inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Casey Edwards, who is tied for 8th in the UL in quality starts with 16, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 3-0.

"Everybody is chipping in right now," said Priest. "That's what makes it so much fun."
