| Boston Upended by Detroit, 7-2 | Detroit and Boston got after it at Beacon Park.
Detroit pitcher Roy Douglas had a large part in his team subduing the Boston Beacons, 7-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Douglas got the win, improving to 3-4. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
In the top of the second, Guy Decker delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Detroit third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Lancers in front, 7-2.
"Nice win for us," said Decker. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Detroit is now 34-41, while Boston is 41-35.
