Washington Eagles starter Billy Robertson pitched well against the New York Gothams at Bigsby Oval II, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Robertson, now 8-7, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Bert Behrendt notched his 10th save in 14 chances.

Paul Krawczyk provided a timely hit. The Washington center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Washington manager Tom Moran. "It's usually not just one thing."
