| Sailors Grind Out 2-1 Win | San Francisco Sailors right-hander Jim Teal pitched a good game against the Chicago Cougars at Golden Gate Stadium, leading his team to victory, 2-1. Teal got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Eddie Morrison, his 4th.
San Francisco center fielder Charlie Jarzombek helped the Sailors go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Jarzombek hit a run-scoring single off Chicago pitcher Hal Adams.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said San Francisco manager Bob Harris.
With the win, San Francisco improves its record to 9-11.
