Wolves Get Thrilling 4-3 Win | The Toronto Wolves beat the Chicago Cougars, 4-3, in 13 innings at Dominion Stadium. Chick Reed, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. The Cougars fall to 10-13 and continue their sputtering start to the 1963 season.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With no one out, Reed hit a curveball from Bob Allen for a solo home run. The Wolves, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It was a test of wills," said Randy Hohlt, the Toronto skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win." | |
