Stars Need Extra Frames to Get Past Beacons
The New York Stars did just enough to secure a victory over the Boston Beacons, 6-5, in 15 innings at Beacon Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Werner Koenig. John Rubin, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities. The Stars have now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Joe Roberts went 1 for 5 with 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for New York. The 29-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 15th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Harvey Morris. It was his 25th walk of the season.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Stars manager Eli Moses.
