Behind a fine performance from Jack Denis, the Boston Minutemen knocked off the Pittsburgh Miners, 6-3. Denis went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Minutemen. Carl Potter closed it out for Boston, earning his 1st save. With the win, the Minutemen improved to 22-21.

Ed Wise, who is on pace for 115 RBI this season, took Pittsburgh hurler Ted Mickiewicz deep in the bottom of the fifth. His solo home run put the Minutemen on top, 4-3. In all, Wise had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
