| Cannons Rally For Late Win Over Lancers | The Baltimore Cannons stopped the Detroit Lancers, 5-3, at Thompson Field. The Cannons got a big game from Honus Gessinger, who went 2-3 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs. Jesse Johnson recorded the save for Baltimore, his 8th of the season. The win puts Baltimore at 28-43.
Gessinger had a game-changing triple in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 slider from Roy Douglas, he banged a 2-run triple to right-center, giving the Cannons a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd triple of the year for Gessinger.
"I thought we competed really well," said Cannons manager Monty Beatson. "I thought the energy was really good."
