| Stewart Shuts Out Boston, 1-0 | Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Boston Beacons as starter Willie Stewart shut them out, 1-0, at Beacon Park. The New York pitcher struck out 2 and walked 1 while allowing 8 hits.
"Stewart was good but he wasn't flawless," Boston manager John Milton said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from New York, but this is on us."
This year, Stewart has fanned 72 in 166.2 innings and collected a 9-10 record with a 2.21 ERA. | | | | | |
