| McCarthy Thwarts Baltimore, 6-0 | It wasn't easy but Joe McCarthy made it look that way.
McCarthy silenced the Baltimore Clippers, 6-0, in a Houston Comets triumph at Dalton Domed Stadium. Despite the appearance of dominance, McCarthy said that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 2 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
On the year, McCarthy has worked 43.2 innings with 26 strikeouts en route to a 5-0 record and 0.62 ERA. | |
