| On Road, Chicago Beats Boston, 5-2 | The Chicago Chiefs reigned over the Boston Minutemen in damp conditions.
Chicago turned a good effort from starter Otis Hawkins into a win over the Boston Minutemen at Minuteman Stadium. The Chiefs won the game, 5-2. Hawkins picked up the win for Chicago, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3.
Chicago took a 3-1 lead on Joe Siniscalchi's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Siniscalchi hit in the top of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Paul Sullivan visibly frustrated.
"Otis gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Chicago skipper Ollie Howard.
The Chiefs have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 19 games. | |
