Don Jones did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houston Comets from being beaten, 6-4, to the Detroit Dynamos at Dalton Domed Stadium. Jones was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. The save went to Ossie Schrieber, his 1st this season. Detroit is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 8th in 20 games.

Red Standish drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate for Detroit. The 28-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Joe Barnes. It was his 1st walk of the season.

Standish called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
