| One Run Enough for Baltimore | "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Sam Lehman of the Baltimore Cannons proved the point at Thorvald Park, holding the Chicago Blues to 3 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Lehman made us look real bad today," Blues manager Mike Dermer said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Lehman had 3 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Cannons took the 1-0 win.
Thus far this season, Lehman has tossed 53 innings in 8 starts, fanned 37 batters, walked 25 and put up a 2.89 ERA with 3 wins and 3 losses. | |
