Gothams Popped by Pioneers, 6-3 | Soggy conditions did not keep St. Louis and New York from playing their scheduled game.
The St. Louis Pioneers picked up a win at Gotham Stadium, taking down the New York Gothams, 6-3. Starting pitcher Billy Hasson was a big reason why. Hasson, who finished 2nd in the FA in ERA with 2.85 last year, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 3 runs on 14 hits.
St. Louis relied on the hitting of Danny Davis to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pioneers on top, 3-0. For the game, Davis had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Hasson. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
St. Louis has an impressive 31-11 record. | |
