The Boston Beacons picked up a win at Beacon Park, courtesy of Fred Wilson. The right-hander helped his team stop the Chicago Blues, 3-2. The Beacons, at 18-7, have a record worth flaunting.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Boston pinch hitter Jeff Heyen, facing Russ Hoover, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Beacons the 3-2 win.
