The Houston Comets and starting pitcher Jay Hunt stifled the Washington offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at Columbia Stadium. For the Eagles, the loss makes their record 6-12.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Columbia Stadium seemed to enjoy watching the Federal Association action.

"Jay did a good job of managing their lineup," said Houston manager Glenn Carney.
