The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Seattle fans at Seattle Municipal Stadium.

Seattle Kings pitcher John Howell was all business, helping his team muzzle the Cleveland Foresters, 4-1. Davey Cronin got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Jesse Walker had a big solo home run for the Kings in the bottom of the third inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Juan Solorzano, who finished 3rd in the FA in wins with 16 in 1968, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Kings on top, 2-0.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Howell said.

The win brings the Kings to 12-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
