| Eagles Slap 3-1 Loss on Brooklyn | Capital Grounds was the site of a tense game between the Brooklyn Kings and Washington Eagles.
Washington turned a good performance from starting pitcher Gary Nadreau into a 3-1 triumph over the Brooklyn Kings at Capital Grounds. Nadreau yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-3. Picking up his 3rd save was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Bert Behrendt.
Nadreau had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second to put Washington in front, 2-0. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single off Brooklyn pitcher Marty Keegan.
"At the end of the day, it's about putting up zeros," said Nadreau.
The Eagles have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 24 games.
