| Stars Knock Off Saints, 5-4 | The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Bigsby Stadium, topping the Montreal Saints, 5-4. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Floyd Warner. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Saints fall to 5-11.
The Stars got a big at-bat from shortstop Lew Smith. For the game, Smith went 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Los Angeles a 5-3 lead.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Smith.
