Stars Trip Cannons, 8-6, in Extra Innings | The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Cincinnati Cannons, 8-6, in 11 innings. Doing his part was right fielder Charlie Sax, who went 4 for 6 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ted Ferguson snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 5-3 on the season. The Stars raised their record to 72-50.
Had Sax not come through in the top of the 11th, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Sax hit a 2-run double. The Stars took the lead, 8-6, and never looked back.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Sax told the Los Angeles Daily News. | |
