| Montreal Beaten, 7-5, by Milwaukee | The Milwaukee Arrows had to overcome a big game from Montreal shortstop Billy Taylor to leave Stade Montreal with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Taylor was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The save was credited to Jim Hart, his 11th. The victory gives the Arrows a record of 47-33.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Paul Burkley came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Montreal pitcher Miguel Hernandez, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 6-5.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Milwaukee manager Randy Hendrix. | |
