| Eagles Score Late, Top Miners, 7-4 | At Fitzpatrick Park, the Pittsburgh Miners and Washington Eagles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Tom Lorang was a vital contributor to the 7-4 Washington victory over Pittsburgh. The Eagles third baseman was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. With the win, the Eagles hiked their record to 63-38.
Washington took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Ralph Weatherbee hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Eagles in front, 6-4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Eagles manager Roger Cleaves.
