| Minutemen Rally to Win, 3-2 | Boston Minutemen starter Bob Scott turned in a sterling performance against the Philadelphia Keystones, leading his team to a thin, 3-2 win in 10 innings. Walt Portelli finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The Minutemen saw their win-loss record go to 44-38. At the same time, the Keystones fell to 40-41.
Boston used the timely hitting of Bruce Hunt to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Minutemen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"That's what these guys do," said Minutemen manager Dode Edwards. "They battle, they fight." | |
