Kings Edge Past Wolves, 5-4 | In a tight contest at Dominion Stadium, the Kansas City Kings edged the Toronto Wolves by the score of 5-4 in 12 innings. Kansas City center fielder Charlie Rogers, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The win for the Kings lifted their record to 21-18.
The result might have been different, had it not been for two-time All-Star Al Farmer. Farmer had a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Kings ahead, 5-4. For the game, Farmer had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Toronto manager Randy Hohlt. | |
