Suns Beaten By Pioneers, 8-3 | The Los Angeles Suns and St. Louis Pioneers delighted fans at Pioneer Field III.
St. Louis Pioneers starter Billy Hasson pitched a strong game against the Los Angeles Suns at Pioneer Field III, leading the Pioneers to victory, 8-3. Hasson, who finished 3rd in the FA in wins with 15 in 1960, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits.
St. Louis took the lead, 8-3, on Bob Bell's 20th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Norm Van Dyne in the bottom of the seventh.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Bell said. "We did a good job of that today."
