Losing Streak Continues for Cannons with 7-5 Loss to Arrows
The Milwaukee Arrows picked up a win at Lakefront Park, dropping the Cincinnati Cannons, 7-5. Fred Smith, who finished 3rd in the FA in strikeouts with 192 in 1969, was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Smith, now 4-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Bud Andrews got the save, the 3rd for him this season.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Moose Patrick had a game-changing hit. The Arrows catcher slammed a 2-run single off Herm Quinn, making the score 7-3, Milwaukee.

"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton. "It's just not paying off."

The losses continue to mount for Cincinnati, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
