| Dominant Performance by Rutherford in Cleveland Win | The Cleveland Foresters got a magnificent performance from pitcher Alex Rutherford, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Foresters win at Forester Stadium. The save was credited to Bob V James, his 18th. The win elevated the Foresters to 39-39.
Rutherford earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Cleveland. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 10. New York hitters had little success against him.
"At the end of the day, it's about putting up zeros," said Rutherford.
