The winning pitcher was Chapman, now 11-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. The loss makes Los Angeles 69-47.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Larry McLaren hit a run-scoring single off Los Angeles pitcher Jimmy Morris. It put the Sailors ahead 2-0.
McLaren called the win "a collective effort."
