| Millers Get 6-3 Win Versus Chicago | The Minneapolis Millers picked up a win at Whitney Park, topping the Chicago Chiefs, 6-3. On the mound for Minneapolis was right-hander Pete Jones. He played a principal role in the triumph. Jones yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-3. The win makes Minneapolis 37-41.
It could have been a different outcome for Minneapolis, had it not been for George Fisher, the former first round draft pick . Fisher contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Minneapolis up, 2-0.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Fisher. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team." | |
