Ormsby Slugs Millers to 8-3 Win
The Minneapolis Millers defeated the New York Gothams, 8-3, at Hennepin County Stadium. Minneapolis catcher Al Ormsby had a superb performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. Bill Smith, the winner, goes to 3-4. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts over 9 innings. At 17-21, Minneapolis is in 8th place in the Federal Association.

With Minneapolis leading 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Ormsby hit a sinker from Bill Smith for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Millers ahead, 8-3.

Ormsby expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
