| Foresters Win Nail-Biter in 10 | Starting pitcher Roy Rice pitched well enough to help the Cleveland Foresters beat the Cincinnati Cannons, 6-5. The winner was Cleveland reliever Bob V James, now 3-3. The loser was John Walker. The Foresters improved to 36-41.
The decisive moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Cleveland. That's when John Piper hit a solo home run off three-time All-Star John Walker to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"This ballpark was lit," Rice said. | |
