Sailors Drop Cannons, 2-1 | The San Francisco Sailors scooped up a win at Tice Memorial Stadium II, dumping the Cincinnati Cannons, 2-1. Hank Lacey, who is tied for 2nd in the CA in quality starts with 6, was essential to his team's success. Eddie Chapman earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 3-5. San Francisco has now won 4 games in a row.
San Francisco used the timely hitting of Edwin Hackberry to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sailors on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Walt Zecher. | |
