Chiefs Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
The Chicago Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Suns, 5-4, in part because of first baseman Andy Ellefsen. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever John Thomas picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jimmy Blair was saddled with the loss. Hal Alsip got the save, his 11th in 15 chances.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Ricardo Castillo to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Ellefsen.

Chicago has now won 4 games in a row.
