Boston Minutemen starter Bob Scott pitched well against the New York Gothams at Minuteman Stadium, leading his team to a win, 4-2. The winner was Scott. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Ray Hooley. Bud Shireman finished to wrap up his 5th save.

Boston third baseman Frank Borgen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Minutemen ahead, 3-1.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Borgen.
