| Miners Back to .500 With Win Over Keystones | The Philadelphia Keystones got a superb performance from pitcher Jim Heitzman, but the Pittsburgh Miners still won the game, 7-4. Heitzman came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Mike Blackham, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The victory gives the Miners a record of 20-20.
Frank Selander, who finished 3rd in the FA in OPS with .977 last year, aided the Pittsburgh cause with a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Selander.
